Banff Mountain Film Festival Partnership

The Canadian Avalanche Rescue Cat Association would like formally announce a partnership formed with the Banff Mountain Film World Tour.  Recognizing the superior benefits of Feline Search and Rescue, the Banff World Tour has agreed to screen the documentary about C.A.R.C.A. founding cat Tim and his handler Steve Ruskay.  The Canadian Avalanche Rescue Cat Association hopes to use the exposure generated from this partnership to persuade ski hill and Search and Rescue operations worldwide that a well trained cat team and handler is the most cost-efficient and proven effective method of avalanche rescue.    Dates and locations for screenings can be found at http://www.banffcentre.ca/mountainfestival/worldtour/

    Hi All,

My fiancee and I really enjoyed your CARCA film short; we caught the Banff Film Festival showing here at the Mountaineers Club, Seattle Washington, last evening. We agreed that your short, and the ensuing belly laughs, was the best show of the night.

Are you selling/providing copies of your film short at this time? We would love to get a copy if so?

Best and good luck going forward!
    Haile

    Thanks

    Adam,

Could you proved further details regarding contributing to the the CARCA sequel? I’m interested in a bit more than purchasing a t-shirt.

    Thank you,

    Dan

    Hi Adam,

It looks like my first post didn’t succeed.

I’m interested in your CARCA sequel project.

    Could you please contact?

    Thank you,

    Dan

      Hi Dan,

Sorry for the slow reply. It has been pretty hectic here and the website has not received enough attention from me. We are in the planning stages of a sequel now and the best way to get a hold of me is through info@carca.ca.

      Thanks for your interest.

Greetings, This week I went to the Banff Film show in Lebanon, New Hampshire and the CARCA film that was shown was jsut an aboslue scream . Adam you did a superb job showing off a very neat new feline technology and kept it hilarious and yet offering a new way to save lives from the horrible effects of avalanches.
My girlfriend and I are avid cat lovers and would love to obtain a copy of this film. Is is for sale ???
    Cheers, Bill Gunther, Vermont

As the owner of a cat, and a 33 year veteran of ski patrolling in Idaho at Pebble Creek Ski Area, I salute you. Where can I get a copy of your film to recruit other cat lovers on my patrol? Smiles,
    Kath

  9. My friend’s and I saw the BANFF film festival tonight, and your movie was the last on the playlist. My friend’s think your movie is a parody, and I’m now unsure what to think, though I first did believe it.

If you’re serious, you’re going to have to contend with potentially lots of people denying the truth of your message.

I would love to show your short film at our April conference in Canmore. I hear it is great. Please contact me.

The film was cute, and I laughed throughout. Until the end. There is nothing funny about a cat being shot out of a cannon. Cats are abused every single day. I work in animal rescue and I know this for a fact. Hearing little kids laugh as the cat was shot out onto the mountain made me sick. Revise the ending, it is the only socially responsible thing to do. Teaching kids that hurting cats is funny is absolutly irresponsible whether it is the intention or not.
